A Market Full of Sharks


I traveled to New York City last week to attend an conference that EVENTup planned for one of our clients, TopOPPS. The event was held at the Museum of American Finance on Wall Street and it was a big success. Kevin O’Leary from Shark Tank was one of the main speakers and he had a lot of very insightful advice. There is so much to learn from his history of helping start-ups off the ground and his extensive sales experience. I took note of a few key points that stood out to me. These are his Shark Tank funding success metrics that every entrepreneur should keep in mind:

1) Entrepreneur able to articulate opportunity in 90 seconds or less

2) Successful in convincing investors that they were the right team to execute the business plan

3) Knew their numbers and had a comprehensive understanding of their business models
